Walking together as First and Second Peoples

The Uniting Church Synod of Victoria and Tasmania has committed itself to a 'walking together' between First and Second Peoples as a path to reconciliation. Ormond Uniting stands on the lands of the Bunurong nation. The congregation has committed itself to adopt policies and take action that advances reconciliation between First and Second Peoples in Australia.
As a commitment to this walking during Lent 2021 we observed a walking discipline where we undertook a meditative walk each Sunday evening. We did this in Allnutt Park in McKinnon. As we walked we were given a question to contemplate about Indigenous peoples’ relationship to country, our own relationship to the land and the path to reconciliation.
